Five Must-Travel Spots in Lahore

LAHORE
Lahore, a large city and the capital of the province of Punjab in the central sub-continent. With the beautiful and stunning cultural, historical and religious values, Lahore has been on the top list for the most versatile city in Pakistan. Multiple rankings suggest Lahore to be 18th largest city in the World.

Why visit Lahore?

Well the main answer Lahoris give to this question is that
"Jine Lahore Nai Vekhya O Jamya-e-Ni"

You might be thinking that despite so many historical and natural spots all over Pakistan, why Lahore attracts a large number of tourists and travelers. Well, the answer to this lies not in the nature it contains but the history, culture and the versatility of Lahori people.

Now lets move on to the top 5 spots in the heart of Punjab that you must visit if you ever enter Lahore.

1. Badshahi Masjid

Being the most dear to the Lahoris and their religion, Badshahi Masjid is renowned as the first place to be seen in entire city. Thousands of Pakistanis and international tourists visit Badshahi Masjid each day.

Built in 1673 by the Mughal Emperor Aurangzeb Alamgir, this place is a perfect depiction of the values of Muslims in sub-continent. The astonishing infrastructure attracts the heart before the eyes. The large area covered by this Masjid is fully covered with huge red tiling and four-walled with multiple high minarets on all corners. You can see how greatly it was bulit by the perfection in the domes and main structure of the Masjid. This Holy place is an amazing spot for those looking to know the ancient Mughal Empire.

2. Lahore Fort

Our next major spot is the reason why Lahore has such an outstanding cultural experience for tourists. Located close to the Badshahi Masjid and Miner-e-Pakistan is the Fort built in the area of about 20 hectares by the Mahmood Ghaznavi in 11th century.

The wide-spread area and ancient architecture is the illustration of the greatness of work and planning of Mughal architects. Recently reopened for public, my favorite place remains "the palace of mirrors" named Sheesh Mahal. With its intensifying beauty and artwork, many people tend to like it the most in the entire fort.

3. Shalimar Bagh
This spot on our list is a bit under-rated but undeniable. The Shalimar Garden gives natural comfort and escape from the hectic routine to the visitors. So if you are looking for entertainment and peace for your day, you should visit here. Moreover, the bunch of flowers and gardens filled with natural beauty will truly attract anyone.

4. Masjid Wazir Khan

This Masjid was constructed in 1634 and is considered to be an awe-inspiring spot for photographers and historians. The Masjid is located along the southern sideof Shahi Guzargah. Commissioned in the era of the Mughal Emperor Shah Jahan, this Masjid is the place of the tomb of Sufi saint Miran Badshah.

Wazir Khan Masjid is reknowned for its elaborate embellishment in a style which draws from the decorative traditions from multiple regions.

5. The Minar e Pakistan

Recently merged with the Badshahi Masjid and Lahore Fort, the true representative of the central city of Lahore is The Minar e Pakistan.

Whether you visited Lahore or not, you definitely would have heard or watched Minar e Pakistan. This was built in 1968 exactly where the All India Muslim League got the Lahore Resolution passed in 1940. This 70m high monument is dear to all Pakistanis and everyday thousands of visitors experience the great tower illustrating the heart of Lahore.

Once you get to visit this amazing city in the heart of Pakistan, you truly experience a versatile life and experiences. In the final time may you also get to know the slogan of Lahore and ultimately tell others that   "Lahore Lahore Ay".
